During the regular season, Giants starting pitcher Jonathan Sanchez allowed only 6.61 hits per nine innings - the best ratio in Major League Baseball.
The Rangers, meanwhile, produced more hits -1,556 - any other club. Something had to give Friday. And it was Sanchez, who yielded six hits and four earned runs before being yanked with two outs in the fifth.
"We came here to win the game," Sanchez said. "And it didn't happen."
