A BITTER war of words has broken out again between two of the world's best-known celebrity chefs.

British TV chef Gordon Ramsay has reignited his feud with compatriot Jamie Oliver on a promotional tour of Canada.

The 44-year-old launched the stinging attack on Oliver while making a public appearance in Toronto to launch his new range of cookware.

Ramsay said that Oliver was "just a cook" while he proclaimed himself to be "a chef".

And he also joked that the 35-year-old - who sprang to fame on the TV show The Naked Chef - needed to "lose a few pounds".

Both chefs own restaurants in central Melbourne. Ramsay operates Maze, at Crown Metropole, and Oliver runs Fifteen, in Collins St.

Coincidentally, as Ramsay made his comments, Oliver was also in Toronto making a personal appearance.

I like Baked Beans and there is nothing wrong with that. Unless of course you take liberties with the baked beans and treat them badly. I never ever treat my baked beans badly!

I'll trust a cook who needs to lose a few pounds over one who doesn't any day!

It is nothing to do with cooking and all about publicity for Gordon Ramsay. Bout time he got over himself and got on with the job . . . like Jamie Oliver is and does !!!

And Ramsay is just a foul mouthed profiteer whom lacks the intelligence to verbalise without swearing. I have shown how I felt by refusing to buy andthing with his name attached and watch his shows. I just wish everyone would do the exact same so we don't have to hear of this man again.

  • no thank you Mr Ramsay Posted at 1:08 AM Today

Oliver might be annoying, but Ramsay is a foul-mouth fool who will do or say anything (controversial and/or offensive), just to get ratings. When it's time for Ramsay's show, I switch to a different channel.

Jamie Oliver, wins hands down over Gordon Ramsay. Ramsay is digging himself another hole to fall into by slagging off Oliver.

Does anyone actually care what Ramsay thinks or says? He just looks so dumb... does he cut his own hair?

Gordon, you really do take yourself too seriously. Think about it. All you do is cook food. Hardly rocket science!

As a chef myself who has run some of the top resturants in Sydney and Brisbane all I have to say is that Ramsay wouldn't have lasted 2 minutes in any of my kitchens the guy's a self opioniated prat where as Jamie Oliver at least gives back to the community and tries to make a difference

I think Ramsay really needs to drop the whole ego thing. People don't watch him because he can cook, people watch him because he's a jerk. He's like the Kyle Sandilands of the kitchen. Not something to be particularly proud of, whereas Jamie Oliver seems sincere in what he does, and actually wants to show people how to eat better food, and the benefits of good nutrition.

Seems like the verbal insults are all from Ramsay while Oliver doesn't seem all that bothered. Ramsay has made a mark being a first rate jerk first and foremost, an adulterer second and as a "chef" a distant third. He should get a life.
