Hernan Crespo scored against his former club, but Luca Antonelli's own goal gave Lazio a point.
The Ducali were hoping for a third consecutive victory, but welcomed a Lazio side that was flying high in second place. Gabriel Paletta sat out a ban with Sebastian Giovinco, Alberto Paloschi, Daniele Galloppa and Francesco Valiani sidelined.
Parma havent beaten Lazio at home since October 24, 2004. Mauro Zarate broke past Blerim Dzemaili for a strike that skimmed the crossbar. Bad news for the Ducali, who lost Stefano Morrone to a knock to the knee after just 20 minutes.
Hernan Crespo broke the deadlock against his former club. Substitute Angelo whipped in a cross from the right for Crespo's glancing header from six yards that flashed across a static Nando Muslera to slot into the far corner.
Stefano Mauri exchanged passes with Zarate only to have his finish charged down by Alessandro Lucarelli. Crespo then threatened a second goal, his volley flashing over the bar.
It was so nearly 1-1 on 39 minutes. Antonio Mirante spilled a Hernanes snapshot and Zarate came flying in to pounce on the loose ball, but Massimo Paci also slid in for a goalline clearance.
Lazio did get back on level terms at the Tardini in first half stoppages. Some acrobatic Angelo defending on Stefan Radu forced a corner kick and from there Sergio Floccari's header at the near post took a massive deflection off Luca Antonelli to loop over his goalkeeper.
After the restart the Biancocelesti went on a counter-attack with Hernanes, but Sergio Floccari hesitated and it allowed Alessandro Lucarelli to get back into position.
Zarate's stuttering run set him up for a shot beaten away at point-blank range, then Paci dived in to stop Hernanes getting the follow-up. Hernanes also nutmegged a defender to skim the base of the near post.
Mirante spilled a Zarate curler, then Muslera pushed a Marques rising strike out of the top corner.
A late free kick came to Zaccardo at the back post, who got round Radu only to fire wide. Francelino Matuzalem and Stefan Lichtsteiner both tested Mirante in the closing stages.
