On Thursday November 18th, the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) campus in the Atlantic Region held its 16th graduation ceremony in Brooklyn Park, MD. Two-hundred and sixteen national service members were honored for 10 months of full time service to the country.

Honor Them With Words; Support Them Through Deeds
Last week, I traveled to San Francisco where I spent a few days on site visits and in discussions with service leaders. A big focus of this trip was highlighting our work to meet the needs of our veterans and military families.

Community Service Alters Lives
A year ago, Detroiter Constancio Yanas was a high school dropout with bleak prospects. Today, armed with his GED, work skills and money for college he earned in AmeriCorps, he has a construction job and will be starting community college this winter.
