it doesnt need to be original or anything like that, why dont people actually look at what she's saying with her artwork rather than looking at how she's done it

What Duchamp did was wonderful but limited. I believe art thrives on development and to be honest I think once conceptual art has been realised it is pretty limited by its nature. I just think, almost a century on from Duchamp, it's time to move on. Is Emin's bed really saying much more than Duchamp's fountain? Personally I don't think so. It is not that it is awful what Emin did but it certainly wasn't orginal, memorable or profound.

What is so wonderful about Emin then Soniccage? I really can't see it myself. Why do you like her art so much?

"An intellectual lightweight who got lucky."

Or you just don't understand art.. Her work is great

"Or you just don't understand her work" would be the laziest, least imaginative, and most bankrupt rejection of criticism against any artist.

Where does her talent lie? Simply in her honesty? That's really not enough.
