Lightning Shows Her Soft Side In Itadaki Street Mobile

By Spencer . May 23, 2010 . 2:59am

imageLightning, the cold and hardened heroine of Final Fantasy XIII, was redrawn into a cutesy board game piece for Final Fantasy in Itadaki Street Mobile.

Itadaki Street is simply explained as Enix’s take on Monopoly. When Square and Enix merged they threw Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest characters into Itadaki Street resulting in the first Cloud meets blue slime crossover. Jenni has a fantastic write up on the handheld entries in case you’re curious about those.

The latest Itadaki Street game stuck with the Final Fantasy trend and added Lighting to the roster. That’s her made “chibi” above. Just like Cloud and Squall, Lightning is too cool to smile.

    Still haven't played any Itadaki Street yet.. are they like Monopoly w/ FF & DQ chars pretty much?

    I still think this is the softest Lightning of them all :)

    It's not as annoying as Monopoly imo, it's a bit more strategic too, it's not just all about buying and getting rent from the others, there's enough other stuff to make things a bit more varied and interesting (and oh god so addicting). It's fun to play with others and team up against the unfairly lucky NPCs. Seriously, their luck is.. immense. You hear me Tidus? I'm gonna kick your ass one day again! (He gave me nightmares, seriously, was the hardest of all NPCs to beat so far, at least on the PS2 version, I want to play the PSP one.. as soon as I have a PSP)

    I'm also gonna reply to your mail soon, I hope.. past weeks have been awfully busy, sorry! ;_;

    Too bad it's always on portable or mobile phones, otherwise I would try it if it's on a console or something.. don't worry about it, I was busy w/ Nier (still am w/ Replicant) and now Alan Wake :)

    Will it be for iPhone/iPod Touch and will it finally be in English?

    Probably not
