The season one finale of FX’s Terriers scored a 0.3 adults 18-49 rating (405,000 adults 18-49), and 784,000 average viewers according to FX’s John Solberg.
That’s up from last week’s 0.2 adults 18-49 rating (212,000 adults 18-49) and 542,000 average viewers.
Not sure if that fits Robert’s Christmas Miracle narrative or not.
Still too low… ugh.
not.
I’m confused. 405,000 Adults 18-49 is an 0.3?

To figure it out, divide by 1,315,000, which is the number of A18-49 per ratings point.
I did like this last episode tho. It was a good ending to the season, and series if it comes to that. I would love to see this show get a new name tho.. The Terriers name doesn’t make much sense anymore. And a new name could do this show justice.
BTW, was there a “Save Terriers” reference in the finale? Something I saw on Facebook made me think there might be, but I haven’t seen anything else about it.
Oh man…bye Terriers =( You stole my heart and now you leave me .
@Julia – episode was titled “Hail Mary”, maybe that?
@Bix, it is a 0.3 national rating but would round to a 0.4 coverage rating (based only on homes where FX is available) but other than the press releases, we try to stick with national ratings since they are easier to compare across networks, and more commonly reported.
OMG!! 50% bump.
I hope it’s cancelled. Then they make a spin off with Hank and Britt in Mexico called Chihuahuas.
*Patiently waiting for DirecTV to swoop in and save the day*
Sadly this is just history repeating itself…Damages had identical ratings in its 3rd season if I remember correctly, and FX just couldn’t afford it…
@Sean – Is it a spin-off if it features the two main characters?
Direct TV recently said they were getting out of the ‘show saving’ business.
That was a joke but If they change settings, change supporting cast I think it can be called a spin off. Ocean Beach was a central part of Terriers, not just a location but a look a feel and a major plot point.
@Wil actually Damages ratings were higher but about the same in the demo. Damages also got lots of awards recognition but was still canceled so it would be very surprising to see FX renew Terriers no matter how bad they want to. TV is a business and i dont think they can afford to renew it. Even if they change the title and advertising for a 2nd season what if the ratings stay the same, then they would look really stupid and lose a lot of money. Even if the ratings doubled next season it would still be considered a flop.
RIP Terriers….
@James,
Though in fairness, I would imagine DAMAGES was also a more expensive series to produce, esp. given the much more high-profile casting (and the fact that those stars’ salaries likely increased over the course of three seasons).
If they do reboot w/ new title slightly changed setting etc. FX will look no worst or better for trying, Dammages was in year 3 and had lost viewers every year, so they know for a fact season 4 of Damages would be another loosing year for them, unless they just wanted awards, something they earn for most of their Dramas.
Terriers…maybe rates more towards the male side and could be relaunched in the summer after Rescue Me, also it does have one thing going for it versus a brand new Drama FX could get some good press since the show has recieved mainly positive reviews, so the 1st few weeks back would get press for the little show that keeps going
Peter, but Damages had a great first year and star power Emmy Awards.
