You can retrieve your forgotten password on the sign-in page of the NBA All-Access Member Center. Just click the "Forgot Password?" link, then enter your e-mail address. Your password will be e-mailed to you. Unfortunately, you cannot recover a forgotten member name. If you can't remember your member name, try using your e-mail address. If you still can't remember your member name, you'll have to sign up for a new All-Access membership.

Blackouts occur when a game is televised by a national network or your local sports station. If a game is blacked out, check the various TV schedules listed above and check your local listings to find the correct channel.


10. Where can I purchase tickets to NBA games?

11. Where can I purchase tickets for NBA All-Star?

Tickets for the 2011 NBA All-Star Game at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, along with NBA All-Star Saturday Night events, will not be open to the general public. However, you will be able to purchase tickets to attend the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam. Fans will also be able to visit the 18th NBA All-Star Jam Session presented by Adidas, which will feature a sprawling interactive basketball theme park, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Tickets for all events will be available at a yet-to-be determined date at the Convention Center box office, STAPLES Center box office, at select Ticketmaster locations in Los Angeles, and online.


12. Where can I purchase tickets for the NBA Draft?

A limited number of tickets for the 2010 NBA Draft will be available for purchase by the general public through the Madison Square Garden Box Office on Thursday, June 24, 2010 beginning at 11:00AM ET. The Madison Square Garden Box Office is located at 4 Pennsylvania Plaza, New York, NY 10001. It is in the Garden's Main Ticket Lobby, directly beyond the building's Seventh Avenue Mall, at 7th Ave. and 32nd St.

14. Where can I find information about the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)?

All NBA players are members of the National Basketball Players Association, a labor organization. The association works closely with the NBA to negotiate player salaries, benefits, and working conditions. All players are covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, or CBA, a document that is updated periodically. The current CBA covers players until 2011.


15. What are the NBA’s tie-breaking procedures for determining playoff seeding?

In the case of two teams finishing with identical regular-season records, the following criteria is utilized, in descending order, to determine which team receives a higher playoff seeding:

• Which team had a better win percentage in games against each other
• Which team had a better win percentage against teams in their own division (only if tied teams are in the same division)
• Which team had a better win percentage against teams in their own conference
• Which team had a better win percentage against teams eligible for playoffs in their conference (including teams that finished the regular season tied for a playoff position)
• Which team had the better win percentage against teams eligible for playoffs in opposite conference (including teams that finished the regular season tied for a playoff position)
• Better net result of total points scored less total points allowed against all opponents.

If more than two teams are tied, then the following criteria are applied, in descending order, to determine playoff eligibility:

• Which team had the better win percentage in all games among the tied teams
• Which team had the better win percentage against teams in their own division (only if all tied teams are in the same division)
• Which team had the better win percentage against teams in their own conference
• Which team had the better win percentage against teams eligible for playoffs in their own conference (including teams that finished the regular season tied for a playoff position)
• Which team had the better net result of total points scored less total points allowed against all opponents

There are several excellent and reliable sources of information on NBA history. The Official NBA Encyclopedia – last published in 2000 – includes special chapters on NBA history and profiles of many of the game’s greatest players. You can also visit the history section of NBA.com, or on “Hoopedia: The Basketball Wiki,” to learn about the NBA online.

18. How can I work for the NBA?

19. How can I play for the NBA?

Most players enter the league through the NBA Draft after many years playing organized basketball. However, all NBA, WNBA, and NBA Develoment League teams hold open tryouts at least once per year. If you are interested in attending open tryouts, please visit individual NBA team Web sites to find tryout session information.

20. Is the NBA planning to expand?

Prior to the 2004-05 seasons, the NBA expanded to 30 teams with the addition of the Charlotte Bobcats. The league has no plans to expand further in the immediate future.

25. How does the assignment process work for the NBA D-League?

An NBA team may assign a player on its active list or inactive list to an NBA Development League team at any time, if the player has one year or less of service. Upon NBA D-League assignment, the player is placed on the NBA team’s inactive list, and reports to the NBA D-League team. The NBA team can call the player back whenever they’d like. Each player is limited to three NBA D-League work assignments over the course of one NBA season.
