Live From AffCon 2010

Posted on July 26, 2010 2:31 PM

I had the privilege of delivering the keynote speech at AffCon2010 in Denver this year. The show was visited by hundreds of merchants and affiliates, so there was plenty of great networking to be had. The WebMasterRadio.fm crew was there, so I have took the opportunity to do my radio show live from the tradeshow floor. Speaking with attendees alongside Dan Nickerson, the show was quite fun to do. To listen to a replay of... Continue Reading

Posted on March 30, 2010 8:58 AM

I've got a question for you. Please raise your hand if you sincerely wish to have a successful online business. Now keep your hand up if you have achieved this goal. Odds are most of the hands just went down. Why is that? It's not for a lack of quality material. Whether you have read my books or acquired material from other sources, you are probably pretty clear on the "how" to make money on... Continue Reading

WARNING: Today's post is going to rattle cages and put a spotlight on a potentially dark side of Internet marketing. Yeah, I'm probably going to tick some people off. That's life. I'm more concerned with speaking the truth. This is #2 in a series called The Truth About Internet Marketing. Part one was called "The Long Form Sales Letter. Using Social Media to Promote and Enhance Events and Conferences - Free Report

Posted on January 17, 2010 12:20 PM

Social media is a revolution in marketing. It allows businesses to identify their most important leads, understand what interests them the most, and talk to them en masse while still making each person feel like an individual. If that sounds like the kind of thing that a good speaker does, there's a good reason for that. Social media and conferences have a great deal in common. Social media marketing doesn't deliver the kind of depth... Continue Reading

Keeping it Real

Posted on December 13, 2008 2:46 PM

I had the privilege of speaking to one thousand people at a seminar this weekend. One the things I hear from attendees again and again is how "real" I am on stage. I take that a compliment, because to be otherwise would be to act "phony." After considering these kinds of comments, I wonder how many people aren't "real" on stage or some other part of their lives. I think one reason that speakers/performers struggle... Continue Reading

We Will, We Will Rock You

Posted on December 12, 2008 11:29 PM

I spoke at Harv Eker's Never Work Again seminar in Rancho Mirage, California today. We had a great time. His attendees are always so engaged and eager to learn. At one point I burst out into a spontaneous stomp-stomp-clap, which led to a chorus of Queen's "We Will Rock You." Don't believe me? See for yourself! Continue Reading

Posted on February 25, 2008 5:54 PM

I've been wanting to meet Jason Calacanis face-to-face for some time. For those that don't know, Jason is the co-creator of Weblogs, Inc., which was sold to AOL for $25 million. I'm at Affiliate Summit in Las Vegas where Jason Calacanis delivered the keynote address this morning. I really didn't know anything about Jason as a person, so I was looking forward to an insightful talk with fresh ideas. Wow, was I in for a... Continue Reading

Posted on April 30, 2007 2:41 PM

I'm sitting at the airport in Atlanta, Georgia, awaiting my return flight to Colorado. I wanted to send this newsletter today because I have just spent the last few days at Big Seminar #9, where I had the privilege of speaking to four hundred attendees and teaching how anyone can make...
