1:49 p.m., Tuesday: A gift card to Best Buy, a Fossil watch, a hooded sweatshirt and a cap. Those are the items the NU players will receive just for showing up at the Holiday Bowl later this month.
Sports Business Journal released its annual list of the each bowl game's presents to players, free stuff that fits within NCAA rules as long as it doesn't exceed $500.
No more than 125 players on a team can take home the bowl gifts, though the SBJ writes that schools and conferences are allotted $350 each to reward the entire roster for league title games and bowl games.
Here are a few other of the bowl game handouts:
Fiesta Bowl and BCS title game: Electronics gift suite, Fossil watch, backpack and cap.
Alamo Bowl: Xbox 360, iPod shuffle, $20 Game Stop gift card, Fossil watch, mini-helmet and team photo.
Insight Bowl: Sony gift suite, Tourneau watch, backpack and cap.
