MEAGHAN HINKIS

Meaghan Grace Hinkis is a graduate of the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at American Ballet Theatre. She began her studies in Connecticut with Loree Cloud and Peter O’Brien and was privately trained in New York City by Fabrice Herrault. Hinkis joined ABT II in December 2007 under the direction of Wes Chapman.

Hinkis has been a guest artist as the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker in many cities, including The Hague. She performed Clara in Radio City’s Christmas Spectacular for two seasons. Hinkis also debuted in two works by Marcelo Gomes and Jodie Gates while in Helsinki, Finland. Most recently she danced the Don Quixote pas de deux in the Festival Castell de Peralada and Veranos de la Vllla in Spain.

Hinkis was the recipient of the YAGP Hope and Contemporary Awards. She was an ABT National Training Scholar, a Bender Foundation Scholar, and was the recipient of the Carmen D. Barth Scholarship. Hinkis recently won the bronze medal at the 2009 Helsinki International Ballet Competition.

Hinkis joined ABT as an apprentice in March 2010 and became a member of the corps de ballet in October.
