Three men struck by train, killed

The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department was investigating the deaths of three people who were struck by a train Monday night.

The train conductor saw three men, who looked in their early 20s, on the track on an overpass, Deputy Jeff Gordon told CNN. He tried to stop, but made contact with what he thought were two of the men, though a third body was also found.

"They were pretty mangled," said Gordon.

The area where the incident happened is known for graffiti "taggers" getting onto ramps, and it is possible that's what these men where doing at the time, Gordon said.
