QMMF Racing Team in Moto2 category Monday, 13 December 2010 23:46

DOHA: The Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) Racing Team for 2011 Moto2 championship is now completed and ready for the new season, a QMMF release said here yesterday.

Mishal Al Naimi will be the first rider and the second rider will be the Ricky Cardus of Spain.

On December 9 at the Hotel de Paris in Monaco QMMF signed an agreement with Cardus, who will be sponsored by Maquinza.

Cardus, nephew of 1990 250cc World Championship runner-up Carlos Cardus, has experience of 600cc bikes thanks to his regular participation in the CEV Buckler (Spanish National Championship) in the Moto2 category.

With regard to MotoGP Championship, his first contact was in 2007 in the 125cc category in the Cardion AB Grand Prix Ceske Republiky and in 2008 he took part in two races, Catalunya and Valencia also in 125cc.

This year, he took part in nine races in Moto2 category with the Maquinza-SAG Team and his best result was 20th in the GP Apero di San Marini e Riviera di Rimini in Italy.

The agreement was signed by QMMF President, Nasser bin Khalifa Al Attiyah, Cardus and the sponsor Maquinza, with Beatriz Poves Royo as its representative.

With this agreement, QMMF Racing Team is very positive and constructive for the new season of the the 2011 Moto2 championship. THE PENINSULA
