Founded in January 26, 1888 in London, the Lawn Tennis Association serves as the governing body of British tennis aiming to advance the sport from the grassroots level to the international scene. Right after its incorporation, one of the LTA’s first tasks was to craft the rules and regulations. In 1900, an opportunity to closely work with American tennis associations came along LTA’s way after having successfully carrying out the Davis Cup. To date, LTA has been working with various clubs, schools, and local authorities to encourage participation from a wider audience, regardless of age and background.
