Girls' Emerging Talent

The girls' emerging talent programme was set up for the first time in 2008 and catered for 200 elite players at U17, 15 and 13 age-levels over a 24 week period in 4 venues around the country - Kingfisher, Waterford City; Mallow, Co.Cork; Dublin North and Dublin South. Players are carefully selected to participate in the programme based on current form and potential, with the ultimate aim being to prepare them for possible international selection.

This programme enables the best female footballers at each age-group play with the best in their age-group against the best players from other centres. The emerging talent programme is an integral part of the player pathway, which begins with our Introduction to Football programmes and culminates in international representation.

2009 saw the roll-out of the programme proper, with sessions being run in the first and second half of the year respectively - again in the same four venues. The 2010 programme begins on Saturday January 30th in the above venues apart from Bunclody which is replaced by the Kingfisher, Waterford.
