Experience Rio de Janiro firsthand while volunteering at a community-run day care center, located in one of Brazil’s largest favelas, where more than fifty children are provided with a loving atmosphere to learn and grow, complete with games and educational activities, nutritious meals, and health care.

Teaching and Community Development in Cape Town

About this Project What's Included

Spend time with over 35 children between 2 and 6 years at a local day care and school which operates out of several shipping containers with very limited resources. You will also support teachers at a primary school that has over 1,300 students and up to 50 students per class.



Mornings and afternoons will be spent assisting teachers at the schools, as well as helping out local community projects. Evenings and weekends are free to explore the beautiful Cape Town area.

Teach Children and Surf in Costa Rica

This technical high school teaches students practical skills like agriculture, raising farm animals, community based eco-tourism, and hospitality. With lots of projects to choose from, one of the most impressive is the recycling project which includes not only the collection and separation of plastic, cans and glass, but also transforms manure into organic fertilizer to be used in the tree nursery as well as for bio-fuels.
