Stolen vehicle recovered by UHP Troopers

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Utah Highway Patrol Troopers were able to nab two people who they say stole a white Ford Focus. 

One trooper was driving behind the car on I-15 near the I-215 interchange when he ran the plate a discovered the car was stolen out of Washington County. 

He called for back up before attempting to pull the car over.  Several Troopers were able to box the vehicle in on the 3500 South off ramp of I-215. 

Sgt. Anthony Carrubba with UHP said that the vehicle pulled over without any incident.

"Whenever we have an incident like this there is a hight chance that the vehicle is going to flee." Carrubba said. "We want to do things as safely as we can."

The male driver and female passenger in the vehicle were both taken into custody.
