With the continued rise in popularity and power of games consoles, it has become common for developers to record full cinematic scores to accompany the increasing immersive-ness of the gameplay experience.

The scores for some of the biggest games of recent years have been recorded or part-recorded at Abbey Road, notably Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Far Cry 2 and God of War. And most recently, the score for the highly-anticipated Playstation 3 game Killzone 2 was recorded in Studio One with the Nimrod Studio Orchestra, engineered by Andrew Dudman.

Guerilla Games' Sound Director Mario Lavin, speaking to music4games.net, said: 'we chose this studio in particular for the acoustic space. It also gave us the opportunity to ultilise some of the best facilities available, meaning that the music and sound design could be more complex and integrated better into the gameplay to match our ambitions for the project.'
