Is "American Idol" alum Alex Lambert homeless?

That's what he claimed in a series of tweets that prompted concern among his fans. But a spokesperson for 19 Entertainment, the production company that manages many former "Idol" contestants, denied the story and pointed out that Lambert receives a monthly retainer and has been working in the studio. "He's not homeless," the rep said. "I don't know where that came from."

The saga began Tuesday night when Lambert said he was "going to freak out if I don't tell y'all the truth," then tweeted this:



In subsequent tweets, Lambert said he had been "crashing behind buildings and sleeping outside." After a minor media firestorm erupted, he blamed "miscommunication."


Lambert's first tweets sent fans scrambling to express their sympathy.




But as word spread that the situation may not have been as dire as it first appeared, some skeptics wondered if Lambert just wanted attention. He swears that's not the case.



Of course, another musician might have had a different perspective on hard times.


Whether Alex Lambert wanted attention or not, the episode accidentally put another name in the headlines.
