ENGINEER-Applied Biosystems, LLC is seeking a Staff Engineer, Software in Foster City, CA. Candidate will be responsible for architecture, design, development, implementation, documentation, and maintenance across entire product lifecycle of web and desktop application software and data analysis solutions for high throughput gene sequencing system. Requires Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field of study plus 6 years experience in position offered or as Software Developer/Engineer, Programmer Analyst, Software Consultant/Architect. A Master's degree plus 4 years experience may also be accepted. Must have demonstrated Java (J2SE) and J2EE (Servlets, JSP, JMS etc.); application development experience on Windows and Linux platform; Web Development experience using HTML, JavaScript libraries (Jquery or Dojo or any other), Ajax, CSS; experience in Java-J2EE frameworks: Hibernate, JSF, Spring MVC, Workflow Engine ( JBPM or WFMC implementation); Application Server or Web server such as Tomcat or Jboss or Websphere application server; development experience using C/C++; experience with job schedulers such as Quartz or any other scheduler; high-performance algorithms and data structures; experience in profiling and performance tuning high throughput and high performance applications; experience in architecture and design of high reliability applications; knowledge of relational database such as Oracle or DB2 or Postgresql and SQL; Messaging System such as ActiveMQ or Websphere MQSeries; Web services and XML; Ant build scripts and Linux shell scripts; Strong Object Oriented development; UML, Design Patterns and Agile development methodologies; familiarity with software production tools (e.g. an IDE, source control, document tracking).Apply online at: www.lifetech.com/careers.
