Romania is to sign agreement on joining European Space Agency Convention Romania on Thursday, January 20, at the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE), will sign the agreement on Romania's joining the European Space Agency (ESA) Convention. The document is going to be signed by European Space Agency Director General Jean-Jacques Dordain and Romanian Space Agency Director General and President Marius-Ioan Piso, informs a press release sent by MAE on Wednesday.

According to the cited source, Foreign Affairs Minister Teodor Baconschi, together with various governmental representatives, members of Parliament and members of the Romanian scientific and academic community, will also attend the ceremony.

As the Board of the European Space Agency decided on December 16, 2010, Romania was unanimously accepted as a fully fledged member within the ESA, reads the MAE release.
