Somedays Lovin’ Printed Lace-up Back Tee – Vintage Cut-offs – Zoe Wittner Ursula Wedge – Vintage Satchel – Floppy Straw HatCristiana Bracelets

I wanted to share what I’m wearing for the festive season… no insane London Snow for me! But, to start with, I feel stupid posting photos where I look generally contrived and bored (sorry – no crazy faces today :D ), but Katie (who lent her expert photography hand here) captured some super awesome lighting which I thoroughly enjoyed. So here are something somethings from our adventure today (our sleepover has somehow become extended over about 5 days…).

For visiting busking friends, Boost Juice and discussing meaningless dilemmas (e.g. the fact that babies’ eyes take up half their heads…) – the perfectly eye-popping print marbled print of this pretty piece of Somedays Lovin’. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like it. Conclusion: perfect to live in over Summer, and hope I don’t get an interesting zig-zag tan on my back.

And you must appreciate the awesomeness of the back (200m on in a shady lane…)

A friend asked why I insisted on always having holes on the back of my tops and dresses. Don’t doubt the awesome.

So I really wanted to do a post called ‘The Twelve Sweaters of Christmas’, but then realized as extensive as my sweater wardrobe is, I really didn’t have enough ‘appropriately festive’ garments to cover the category. Also, half of my wardrobe is in a different city so in the spirit of the holidaze I present to you; my top three ultimate Christmas sweaters of 2010!

Nothing mindblowingly spectacular today except that we got caught in the torrential rain and ended up looking like drenched waif children at the train station (haha… ha) with assorted flora woven into our hair – don’t ask. Maybe I look better as a rose-garlanded drowned rat?

I’m feeling a bit left out with all you guys having snow and warm coats in the Northern Hemisphere!

I’m not superhuman though – I still got stabbed by thorns while making this bad boy. It died about an hour after I snapped these.

I would also like to announce that I am completely unprepared for Christmas.

That will be all.

Time certainly flies when you’re enjoying yourself, and with all the fun I’ve been having as a blogger for LG Fashion, I’ve almost forgotten that this is our last week–and that this will be my last post! What can I say…it’s been a blast! I definitely enjoyed reporting on trends and sharing my personal style with everyone, and I will certainly miss reading the other bloggers’ stylish posts and catching up on all the fashionable ‘Strut it Sweepstakes’ entries on Facebook. In a way, I’m sad to be leaving such a wonderful and lively fashion community, but also glad to have been a part of it. Now before I get all emotional on you, I’ll leave you with a little parting gift–a guide on how to stay warm, while still looking cute.

 ***

Staying warm and adjusting to our surroundings is a basic animal/human instinct–how else would we survive? When the weather gets cold, animals either a) hibernate b) grow thicker fur or c) migrate. And since humans can’t do any of those things (well, some of the luckier ones get to go on a vacay) I thought I’d make up a guide on how to survive various stages of cold weather while still looking cute–a huge challenge, if I ever saw one. Besides, as a seasoned Winnipegger, who would be better to guide you through this stuff? Trust me, variations of these outfits have been personally tested out many times before in their actual, meant-for temperatures, and they’re practically fool-proof! You really don’t need to bring out your parka until it hits -20 deg Celcius if you know the trick to staying warm…

sorry for the brief absence… i’ve been working a crazy vampire schedule at work, so i’m a bit behind… on everything!  but i do have some amazing new… i’m leaving for japan next week, and won’t be back until the 28th.  i’m dying to go!  even though it will be for work, and i will be gone for christmas, i’m so excited… i don’t think i’ll ever get another chance like this, so i had to take it, right?  hopefully, i will be able to get away with my normal attire… sweater dresses, vintage, and 7 inch platforms.  you can’t see here… but i finally broke down and bought the gee wawa fatales… and omg, let me tell you, EVERYWHERE i go, someone has something to say about them… all good of course ;)
hopefully i’ll be able to get some more posting in before i leave!

Headmistress Watson Lake HeaddressLiving Doll Beaded Layer DressZoe Wittner Ursula Wedges

Sorry about the brief hiatus, LG-ers!! I’ve been with and without computer, internet, uploading, technology… it hates me :) But I’m back!

As much as I’m not a fan of sitting in fields in what-I-wore-today (because let’s face it – you clearly don’t wear that to a field), I couldn’t resist the amazing sunlight at about 5 in the evening, and the way it makes everything look super-focused, but dreamy at the same time. A lot like this amazingly sweet dress that the lovely Annika of Living Doll kindly lent me to share with you all. Isn’t it just stunning? I could spin in it forever – the layering is that fine and perfect. Similar outlook goes for a lot of Living Doll’s pieces! Take a look HERE.

The obvious accompanying choice would have been flats boots and a felt hat. So I tried my beloved wedges and my favourite feathered beauty that is getting a lot of wear (much to the entertainment of those who live on my street).

Lulu’s sent me this fabulous angora animal print sweater dress. Perhaps it was just a sweater, but I ordered it in a larger size to wear with tights or my favorite leather leggings. I throw a leather jacket on over this and I’m ready for a night out on the town. Now that I have this, I need more sweaters and sweater dresses to keep me cozy through the unbearably cold and harsh Michigan winters. What are your must haves for this winter season?

Welcome to my farm, everybody! I posted these pics on my blog a while back but I just wanted to share some pictures of all the wonderful animals we have on my family’s farm back home. There are highland cattle, muscovy ducks, sheep and Appaloosa horses, oh my! But really, I love them all so much and want to prove that you don’t have to come from a big fashion capital city to dress well or have fun with fashion.

Thought I’d welcome a new month with sequins and this faux fur collar I thrifted for like $2.00! I mean, who doesn’t like a little glitz and glam to start the month off right? December is the crown month of glitter, indulgence, excess, all things luxe and yes, even coziness. Let’s not forget how cold you’ll be when you’re sitting by your television watching the never-ending holiday fire log channel after a long day of shopping/baking cookies/wrapping gifts/wishing you had a Snuggie.

Wearing a thrifted sequin top, faux fur collar and shorts, random cardigan and red mesh tights courtesy of American Apparel.
