Medicare cuts delayed 1 year

Chiropractors and other health care providers got a reprieve when Congress passed a bill delaying for one year a reduction in Medicare payments that would have taken effect on Jan. 1, 2011 under the Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) formula. The bill, the "Medicare and Medicaid Extenders Act of 2010," signed by President Barrack Obama on Dec. 15, 2010, extended current Medicare payment rates through December 31, 2011.

"We have been honoured by the extremely high caliber of candidates for this position," Dr. Phil McMaster, NZCC Board Chairman said in making the announcement.
