Dave joined Chelsea in 1989 and made an impressive 157 appearances in his four years at Stamford Bridge.

Before becoming a Blue he played for Wimbledon and Newcastle, the former of which he was playing for when he became the first ever goalkeeper to save a penalty at Wembley in the FA Cup Final, securing a 1-0 win.

Dave had a busy football career and after leaving Stamford Bridge he went on to play for Southampton, Nottingham Forest, Portsmouth, Wigan, Brighton and Fulham. He has also won two caps for England.

After hanging up his gloves he became a player coach at Fulham in 2007 and is currently a senior coach at the Glenn Hoddle Academy, working with the Academy's outfield players as well as the goalkeepers.

A keen all round sportsman he can often be found either teeing off on the golf course or hitting the slopes.
