OUR EDITORIAL POLICY, SOCIO-ECONOMIC AND POLITICAL VIEWPOINT
Flyoverpress.com provides a forum for those, often controversial, voices that are currently marganilized (often outright censored) by the gate keepers of the mainstream media.
Opinions expressed on this web site, or in any of the daily articles that we send to our subscribers, are those of the author(s). They do not neccessarily reflect the opinions of Flyoverpress.com or any of its staff or sponsors.
With regard to those ideas and opinions for which we are responsible, in general, FlyoverPress.com applies natural law, reason and the praxeological methodology of Austrian Economics to the analysis of contemporary socio-economic issues and policy.
We speak for millions of Americans in what is now known as “flyover country.” These are honest, hard-working folks who are sick and tired of being taken for green toothed morons and talked down to by the condescending mainstream, liberally biased media.
We are strong advocates for the traditional ideas held by the vast majority of Americans in the rural areas of the old South and the Western part of the United States. (That, of course, mostly excludes the Left Coast.)
We are not afraid to say what literally millions of them are thinking. John Rocker was right!
We believe that the Constitution of the United States of America is no longer the "supreme law of the land" but it should be. It is NOT a "living document." It says what it says in clear and concise English. We want it reinstated.
We believe that, no matter in what twisted ways our destroyers may "interpret" that plain English, the USA was founded based on the moral principles of Christianity. A truly free society is impossible in the absence of moral values.
As our Masthead would indicate, we believe in the truth--no matter whose sacred cow it may slaughter. We believe that truth will ultimately prevail.
We believe that the so-called "War on Drugs" is a farce--not intended or designed to be winnable--the biggest con-job that has been pulled on the American people since the Vietnam War.
We believe that US foreign policy is drastically flawed. We should take the very wise advice that George Washington gave us in his farewell address--friendship and commerce with all nations, entangling alliances with none.
We believe that we can disagree with our government's foreign policy, but still "support the troops." In fact, most of our staff are veterans and proud to have served.
We believe in real, constitutional money--gold, silver or certificates redeemable therein. The Federal Reserve System is the single largest Ponzi scheme ever suffered by humanity.
We believe that the Federal Income Tax Code should be repealed in its entirety and replaced with nothing.
True altruism comes from the inherent goodness of the American people--some of the most charitable people in the world. Welfare, as we know it today, is little more than a breeding subsidy that perpetuates itself. All the welfare that really needs to be done would be done by our Churches and Civic Organizations.
We believe that radical feminism is one of the largest contributors to the destruction of our civilization's fundamental building block--the immediate family.
We believe that hating someone solely for the color of their skin is absolutely unreasonable. But, we also believe that there is absolutely nothing wrong with anyone (regardless of race, creed, sex or national origin) wishing to be free to associate (or not associate) with whomever he or she chooses. It is a perfectly natural desire to associate with people who hold the same values and demonstrate the same behavior. Affirmative action is racist and has been one of the most destructive of forces in our society.
We believe that government has no business in our business except to protect us from fraud and violence.
Along those lines, we believe that one of the very few legitimate roles of government is to provide a strong national defense. The emphasis is on the word "defense." As it is used nowadays, the term "defensive spending" is misleading, and is probably intended to be so. What we have is not "defensive" spending, it is "offensive" spending. We have troops in over a hundred countries around the world. There is nothing in any of those fly-blown hell holes that is worth even one of our young men's lives. Bring them home.
Most, but not all, of our ideas are libertarian. For example, we divert from the libertarian view on abortion. We believe that abortion is murder. (What do the pro-choice people think that "thing" is going to develop into--a noxious weed?) As such, it IS the government's business--but not the Federal Government's business. Up until the Constitution was usurped, murder was always a state problem.
Speaking of which, we believe that, as the Founders intended, the individual states are the sovereign entities. Regardless of the fact that Lincoln applied aggressive military force to another sovereign nation in order to "save the union," States have a right to secede.
We believe that the truth about the so-called "Civil War" (more accurately described as the "War of Yankee Aggression") is only rarely told. In fact, we devote a large segment of our web site to setting that record straight.
We support the States' right to secede. Only a quick glance at the map of recent general elections reveals that we can not even agree on how we should be governed. Maybe it is time that we peacefully went our separate ways.
*Note: We hold no special government issued licenses or permits. We don't accept government subsidies, bailouts, low-cost loans, insurance, or other privileges. We don't lobby for laws that hurt our competitors. We actively oppose protectionism and invite all foreign competitors to try to under price us. We do not lobby for tariffs, quotas, or anti-dumping laws. We do not support the government's budget deficits: we hold no government or agency securities.
