Perhaps she was in no mood to celebrate after MTV dropped her new reality show.

As Lauren Conrad was clearly not having the best of times at her belated birthday bash in Las Vegas last night.

At times, she looked glum and unhappy at the party, held at the Pure nightclub in Caeser's Palace.

Wearing a sequinned bronze dress with black heels, the star chatted to friends and sipped a drink in a low key celebration.

After turning 25 on February 1, the star immediately got some bad news, when MTV dropped her new fashion-based reality show.

'It was a great attempt but it just didn’t feel like a perfect fit for us now,' the channel said in a statement.

A clearly disappointed Conrad responded: 'We sold a show to MTV, filmed it and are really proud of the final result.

'MTV felt the subject matter was too high brow for their audience and offered me the opportunity to change the show by incorporating more of my personal life.'

However, MTV did offer the star some encouragement for the future.

'We love her. We would love her on our network,' MTV's head of programming David Janollari told Entertainment Weekly.

She has a fair point about why MTV didn't want her new show. It's well know that she left the Hills' which was MTV"s highest rated show, before Jersey Shore, because she was living two lives. One for the show, and her actual life. She had problems with them wanting to show her with her boyfriend who refused to appear, and as soon as she left ratings tanked and the show was canceled. If she refused to include more of personal life this time around, obviously learning from her first contract with MTV, you can't blame her.

How come Amber, USA, and Danny, Warks; have the exact same comment, word for word. Incidentally, Amber's is the oldest comment, and comes 5 hours before Danny's??

Don't tell me it was another reality show about a rich daughter and how she spends daddy's money! MTV are scraping the barrel, maybe because they only get 1/5 of the viewers they used to get 10 years ago and the average age of there viewers is 10 to 13!
