Bahrain security forces open fire on crowds

Friends and family members mourn during a funeral for slain anti-government protester Ali Ahmed al Muameen on February 18, 2011 in Sitra, Bahrain.

Soldiers opened fire Friday on thousands of protesters defying a government ban and streaming toward the landmark square that had been the symbolic centre of the uprising to break the political grip of the Gulf nation's leaders.

Corn can be blamed for many prices that are on the rise. The U.S. Department of Agriculture warns that corn supplies are at their tightest levels in 15 years, due in large part to ethanol production. The demand for corn for ethanol is now at 4.9 billion bushels per year. Corn prices have almost doubled, from $3.49 a bushel in July to $6.10 in January. Because corn is a common ingredient in many food items, the surge in corn prices will be reflected in your grocery store bill.
