Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood - Single-player DLC announced

The Da Vinci Disappearance out next month

Ubisoft's just announced new Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood DLC, The Da Vinci Disappearance.

The add-on, which is planned for release on Xbox 360 and PS3 at the beginning of next month, will cost 800 Microsoft points (£6.85) and adds both single-player and multiplayer content.

"After the fall of the Borgias in Rome, Leonardo Da Vinci is kidnapped by the Hermeticists, an underground cult dedicated to transforming mankind," Ubi's single-player blurb reads.

"Ezio will embark on a relentless quest to recover stolen paintings in order to find Leo before it is too late, discovering two new locations and two new gameplay features along the way."

The multiplayer addition is described as the biggest expansion yet, with one new map, four new characters and two new game modes.

The new multiplayer map, Alhambra, is "a lush environment set in Spain's Albaicin of Granada" and provides "multileveled indoor and outdoor areas perfect for predators to lurk in the dense crowd for unsuspecting targets."

The four new characters include Dama Rossa, the Knight, the Marquis and the Pariah.

The two new gameplay modes are Escort and Assassinate. In Escort mode, two teams of four players compete in this team-based mode where each team must protect their VIP target or assassinate the other team's VIP. In Assassinate mode, six to eight players are pitted against each other deathmatch style in one ten minute round.

The Da Vinci Disappearance DLC also adds ten new Achievements, which for some is worth the money on its own.

We approve. See screenshots and a trailer below.

Can someone convert 800 MS Points *sigh* to british pounds please?

Going by the pricing of Microsoft points when purchasing them from the Dashboard, 500 Microsoft points costs 4.25, that works out at 85p per 100 points, so this DLC costs 6.80.

Good to see an expansion of the single player.

Great news. I'm not a multiplayer person, so i'm glad to hear about some single player DLC. Good excuse for me to jump back in.

That'll probably make it 6.99 on PSN then, thanks JOEuk91

^ Try 7.99, it nearly always gets bumped up by a quid. OR, they're feeling generous and release it for 4.99. Either way I'm getting it, can't get enough of AC.

You say that, but imagine how much fun you could have assassinating him in various brutal ways.

@THELASTDODO, if you had bothered to read the article properly you would have seen 800MS points with 6.85 in brackets for PS3,if all dodos were as thick as you no wonder they are extinct.

I still havn't got AC brotherhood yet and cant decide which version to get,is the Copernicous PS3 exclusive content any good does anybody know.

.... and if everyone was as lazy as you the human race would be extinct. Go and look on google or something about The Copernicus Conspiracy DLC and decide for yourself. It doesn't matter if it's good or not as it's free DLC so you have nothing to loose.

Anyway I will be buying this DLC at some point. I can't get enough of the multiplayer or single player of this game.

Am I the only one who is suspicious of this DLC. We're way into February, right? Assassin's Creed 3, which I'm assuming will be a true sequel not focusing on Ezio but some other ancestor, will be launched in November 2011. This gives the developers just 10 months before they have to launch so surely all their man power is focused on getting AC3 ready in time. So what are the chances that this DLC was probably ready when Brotherhood was released late last year and they've just held onto it to strategically release during the year?

Am I just a paranoid android or is this DLC business getting a bit out of control? :?
