Marconi's Achievement
(From the Montreal Gazette)
Mr. Marconi expects today to begin
sending commercial messages across
the Atlantic from Canada to Great
Britain.  What he has done gives rea-
son to think that his expectation
will be realized.  Commercially the
event will be less notable than the
sending of the first transatlantic
messages by cable, because that cre-
ated a means of communication where
none had existed.  Scientifically, the
Marconi achievement will be the
greater of the two, and will deserve
to repeat the cables' commercial suc-
cess.
