COLUMBUS, Ohio, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- An Ohio woman was jailed Thursday after a judge convicted her of suffocating children she was babysitting to quiet them down.

Gianna Cochran, 36, was found guilty of 12 of 18 counts of child endangerment, The Columbus Dispatch reported. Common Pleas Judge David Cain described her as a dangerous woman because her assaults are "the kind of thing that don't leave any marks."

Cochran cared for other people's children and her own two daughters at the townhouse she shared with her boyfriend. She was charged last April after her boyfriend captured her abuse of the children with a nannycam.

There was no evidence any of the children suffered permanent injury. The video showed Cochran leaning over crying children, covering their mouths with something to stifle their breathing as their cries become weaker.

"When the child's face was covered or pressed against the defendant's chest, the natural conclusion would be that it was suffocation for a temporary period," the judge said. "When you add the audio to it, it's the only reasonable conclusion."

Relatives of the children applauded when Cain revoked Cochran's bail. Some family members cried during the two-day, non-jury trial, and one grandmother was removed from the courtroom Wednesday when she began cursing Cochran.

Cochran faces a substantial prison term.
