From Madison and beyond, a daily dose of political news and glimpses behind the scenes

  1. Enough, clear the Capitol......this is getting foolish.
  2. nice. Dems go home, your cause is lost as well as this guys life was almost lost! Quit your crying, you can't win anyways....
  3. Now they are prohibiting emergency assistance to a police officer?

This is out of control. Those permitting this at the Capitol should be taken into custody.

    Contempt of the Wisconsin Constitution

The legislature cannot prohibit an individual from entering the capitol or its grounds. 59 Atty. Gen. 8.

    Wisconsin Constitution – page 8 – Section 4 – Right to Assemble

  4. Demacraps on the run... Not for long.... Tic Toc Tick Toc

  6. Better not have a heart attack at the Capitol....they might need proof of your party affliation before they let in the emergency personnel.
  7. I consider myself an Independent Moderate - I may never vote for a republican again after this fiasco.

i agree. walker lied during his campaign. not once did he say he wanted to destroy the middle class or unions. i promise to never vote for another lying republican for as long as i live. i also promise never to vote for another republican again. but those 2 statements are probably the same thing!
  8. Ha! Way to go Governor Dropout. Your violation of a straining order could have caused someone's death. Hopefully, the stress of this situation, which is entirely your fault for not giving an inch, will cause you or a Fitzgerald to have a heart attack or stroke.
  9. Squash the opposition at all costs.
  10. you have to be kidding -
you wrote: "your cause is lost as well as this guys life was almost lost!"

the officer was stuck in an elevator - hardly a life threatening situation.

    Open the doors already
  11. Yes, let's restrict the public to connect with the elected officials and while
    were at it let's make sure they all have identification. Why stop there;
let's take down the opposition party so we have a one party system.
Then let's only let the priviledged vote...those that own land. Sound
    good? Wake up Wisconsin!
  12. dbelle2- I'm right there with you. Egads, I voted for Leah Vukmir. NEVER again. I feel duped, stomped on and disgusted.
  13. This is insane! At least Walker isn't saying, "My people love me!" like Qaddafi. (Well, at least not yet!) But he's clearly bought into the "bunker mentality" in which he has to exclude anyone who might have a drop of disagreement with him, even if it's emergency personnel responding to a legitimate call. Of course, with Walker's budget, we may just have to call EMT's from neighboring states if we want any help.
  14. Fire people are tricky. Where there is smoke they show up. Usually its pretty easy to ID fire people that got a big truck, big boots and hats. Walker should institute trick questions to see if they are real fire people.
  15. If the democraps and unions weren't protesting and making pests out of themselves, there would have been NO problems for the firefighters getting into the building!

Go back where you came from, like a job maybe and let the State get back to business! You had your say!
  16. dblle2 said "not once did he say he wanted to destroy the middle class or unions."

Lots of astroturfy posts going up today. I'm a conservative but. . . or From this life long republican. . .

dblle2, if you think this is about an attack of the middle class you've been duped. Otherwise you're just not honest
  17. So did they think these firefighters were there to protest?

I hate to doubt law or fire service, but something in this story just doesn't make sense.
  18. You're not going to vote for a Republican ever again because they dare stand up for what they believe in and are doing what they say? Egads. We don't need you. LOL They promised to rein in spending without raising taxes, and that is what they are tryigg to do. Presumably THAT is why you voted for them....so now that they are doing exactly what they were hired to do, you are mad. Sounds like YOU are the despicable one. Craziness. 3 years from now when we're all better off with lower taxes and all the fat trimmed out of our budget...we'll see what you all do.

I am middle class. 70% of Wisconsin is not represented by these fools. So you just watch.
  19. this is silly...they should have taken an axe to the door and got in that way
  20. Just heard the PROTESTERS have done over $7.5 million dollars damage to the marble in the Capitol! Who is going to pay for that? The teachers, unions I don't think so!
It is people like me that have a job, paying taxes to clean up the mess you leave behind.

Get out of my Capitol and go back to work!
