Well Charlie, it looks like you'll have even more time to do interviews. Yes, following the turbulent events that led to the show being shut down for the rest of the season, Charlie Sheen has been fired from Two and a Half Men.

The very brief press release from Warner Bros. Television, who produce the show for CBS, simply reads, "After careful consideration, Warner Bros. Television has terminated Charlie Sheen's services on Two and a Half Men effective immediately."

Pointedly, there is no mention of the show itself being over, and no doubt that is still a major point of discussion for Warner Bros. and CBS, considering the series is such a huge, moneymaking hit.

Update: You didn't really think Charlie Sheen would stay quiet on this for more than a few minutes, did you? Yep, Sheen has given a statement to TMZ (who else?), where he has a brand new name for Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre. It reads (are you ready?):

"This is very good news. They continue to be in breach, like so many whales. It is a big day of gladness at the Sober Valley Lodge because now I can take all of their bazillions, never have to look at whatshisc*ck again and I never have to put on those silly shirts for as long as this warlock exists in the terrestrial dimension."
