Canadian residents are about to get some pork buns! It was recently announced that David Chang is bringing two new restaurants to Toronto, sometime in early 2012. The Shangri-La Toronto, a luxury hotel will play host to the chef’s new eateries – although the restaurants will be in a separate three-story building rather than inside the hotel. The first floor will be an intimate noodle bar, the second a cocktail den and the third a larger restaurant called Momofuku Daisho.
So, how did this come about? Chang was in town for a “drunken weekend” of “gorging” himself when the hotel approached him. Good to see that all the gluttony paid off! [The Star]
