Submit a Recommendation
A complete application includes three recommendation letters.
- These recommendations must be submitted separately using the online form.
- The recommendations may be submitted by recommenders OR applicants on behalf of their recommenders.
- Recommenders may submit their letters before their applicant submits his/her completed application. However, in this case it is likely the applicant will not receive email confirmation of submission. Do not take this as an indication of unsuccessful submission.
- To ensure successful submission of your recommendation letter be sure to use the correct applicant ID, composed of the applicant’s birth date and the last four of numbers of his/her Social Security number (MMDDYYYY####) No space, no dashes, no slashes.
- The deadline for the Fall 2011 White House Internship application period was March 13, 2011. No letters of recommendation for Fall 2011 applicants will be accepted after March 13. The deadline for the Summer 2011 White House Internship application period was January 23, 2011. No letters of recommendation for Summer 2011 applicants will be accepted after January 23.
- The application for the Spring 2012 White House Internship will be posted on May 9, 2011. All Spring 2012 White House Internship letters of recommendation MUST be submitted ON or BEFORE 11:59 p.m. EDT September 11, 2011.
- The application period for the D.C. Scholars Program is March 14 – April 24; all D.C. Scholars letters of recommendation MUST be submitted ON or BEFORE 11:59 p.m. EST April 24, 2011.
