Spring break! Athens empties out and the students head for the nearest beach or, hopefully, the nearest service learning project.
A few of us stay, for whatever reason: money, schoolwork, a family history of skin cancer.
Those of us hoping to use University resources have to deal with shortened schedules.
“There’s not that many of you,” they say, [...]
Women’s contraceptives more expensive

We’ve had many battles over women’s rights. But I think one crucial concern for women is overlooked in the frustrating discussion — the cost and effectiveness of women’s contraception.
As a young woman, it doesn’t surprise me that 38 years after Roe v. Wade, abortion continues to be a hotly debated issue.
But the real issue is [...]

Spring break 2011 did not go exactly as planned.

You’ve worked hard, pinched pennies and begged your parents to borrow their Suburban. Spring break is here and careless stranger-sex is right around the corner.
I’m not going to pass judgment or wag my index in disapproval.
If I hadn’t spent the majority of my spring vacations at my sister’s baby-sitting my niece, I probably [...]

Illegal immigrants do pay
taxes with legal citizens
In her article, Adina Solomon (“Illegal immigrants hurt taxpayers,” March 10) bases the entirety of her rant on the premise that illegal immigrants do not pay taxes. It is ignorant to say that illegal immigrants do not pay taxes. Of course they pay taxes.
As Solomon found no references to [...]

Justice for All
The editorial board finds the methods of Justice for All distasteful. This is not about pro-life or pro-choice. This is about offensive images and blind antagonism. However, everyone has a right to free speech, no matter how inflammatory. We may not like them, but their presence assures us that free speech is alive [...]
