Constantine Maroulis releases his version of Chicago classic: 25 Or 6 To 4

Constantine Maroulis (American Idol & Rock Of Ages Star) has released his take no prisoners performance of Robert Lamm's composition 25 Or 6 To 4, originally recorded by the band for Chicago II.

The energy jumping off the track speaks for itself!  Go get it here.

And a quote..

"Constantine is on fire -what an exciting way to hear my song and introduce a whole new generation of fans -I love it!" "

Robert Lamm -Chicago

I love the rhythm section and brutal guitar tone -wild! I don't compare the vocals to anything else. That would miss the entire point .. i.e. there is no need to "defend" the original. Dan said it perfectly. Constantine is just rockin' the house with a killer Chicago song. A quick reality check for those with perfect pitch out there -its still pretty great. Cool arrangement as well. I'd like to see Chicago's music carry on for many more generations beyond all of us. I am sure glad people aren't capping on modern symphonies for not playing Mozart "better" than the original performers.. Its about the music and the timeless nature of the song.

As the judges on 'American Idol' sometimes say, I thought it was just 'okay.'  A bit pitchy in some places, and when you're going to do a cover of a song, you better nail it beyond the original.  Which is a big task, considering you're trying to go beyond those Peter Cetera vocals.

Congratulations, as mentioned above it is very important to get the next generation to experience the "Happy, Joyous and Free" spirit of the Music of CHICAGO that many of us have had the opportunity grow with over the past 40+ years. Very-Very Cool

Nice job, but, NO ONE can duplicate or come close to the original Chicago 25 or 6 to 4! I prefer Chicago.
