Susan Eckerly

Susan EckerlySenior Vice President, Federal Public Policy

Susan Eckerly serves as the head of NFIB's Senate lobbying team and oversees the Research and Legal Foundations.

Before coming to NFIB in 1996, Eckerly was director of regulatory policy for Citizens for a Sound Economy, where she worked on regulatory and Superfund reform. Before that she served as deputy director of economic policy studies for the Heritage Foundation. Eckerly has also been a staff member of various legislative committees, including the Senate Committee on Small Business.

When President George H. W. Bush was in office, Eckerly served at the U.S Department of Labor. She was recently appointed to the Labor Department's National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health, and will help the voice of small business be heard louder than ever when new workplace-safety regulations are considered.

Eckerly has a bachelor's degree in political science from DePauw University and a master's degree in foreign affairs from the University of Virginia. In addition to serving as vice president of NFIB, she also sits on the advisory board of the NFIB Legal Foundation.
