Eutelsat appoints Marc Welinski

Eutelsat Communications has announced that Marc Welinski is joining the company on May 2 as director of marketing and commercial strategy, reporting to Andrew Wallace, the group’s COO.

Dailymotion appoints head of international content

Dailymotion has announced the appointment of Daniel Adams as the company’s first head of international content. He will be based in London, Dailymotion’s new hub for its new content team.

O’Sullivan moves from Sky to Telekom

Gerry O’Sullivan is to join Deutsche Telekom as the IPTV platform’s VP of Global TV and Entertainment, where he will be responsible for the international development of services that include videoload, musicload and gamesload.

Cassy promoted at Sky 3D

John Cassy has been appointed to the newly created position of director, Sky 3D. He will be replaced as director, Sky Arts, by James Hunt, the channel’s current head of programming.

ATO chooses new head

Jan Andrusko has been appointed the president of the Czech Association of Television Organisations (ATO).

Memorial service for Andy Birchall

A memorial service was held on April 15 on board HMS President, on the Victoria embankment, to celebrate the life of Andy Birchall, one of the pioneers of UK pay-TV. He died in February after an 18-month fight against a brain tumour aged 66.

Thompson leaves Arqiva in new reshuffle
