At least when you take my time for commercials on TV, I?m getting a "free" TV show. 2) People who answer their cell phone while watching a movie. If the call is THAT important, perhaps you shouldn't even be watching a movie. 3) $10 for a popcorn and coke?!?!? I wish Costco would open a concession stand. 4) People who sit directly in front of you or behind you in an empty theater. I'd like to put my feet up, but I don't want you to. 5) Parents who take young children to rated R movies. The subtleties of "Saw" or "Hostel" might be better appreciated when they're 17. 6) Parents who take crying babies. It's called a babysitter. 7) People who talk during the movie like they're at home. Would you mind expressing your views on who the killer is, after the movie is over? 8) Poor projection/sound quality. 9) People who complain. 10) Irony. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ <div><embed src="http://apps.rockyou.com/fxtext.swf?ID=49922835&nopanel=true&stage=true" quality="high" scale="noscale" width="508.91125" height="223.8" wmode="transparent" name="rockyou" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed><br><a style="padding-right:1px;" target="_BLANK" href="http://www.rockyou.com?type=fxtext&src=emry&refid=49922835"><img alt="RockYou FXText" src="http://apps.rockyou.com/link/logo.gif" border="0"></a><a style="padding-right:1px;" target="_BLANK" href="http://www.rockyou.com/fxtext/fxtext-create.php?src=emcr?refid=49922835"><img style="border:0px;" src="http://apps.rockyou.com/link/create_own.gif"></a></div>

    Rollercoaster (1977)

    September 18, 2011

Woefully underrated thriller stars Timothy Bottom and George Segal in a brilliant game of cat and mouse set at a series of theme parks. Disaster films of the 70s were big on gimmicks and short on characterization. Rollercoaster was marketed around its catastrophes. And while the action is highlighted a couple of

    Drive (2011)

    September 16, 2011

Elegant thriller based on James Sallis's 2005 crime novel concerns an unnamed Hollywood stunt driver who also operates outside the law by driving getaway cars at night. There's something decidedly 80s about Drive. From the "Purple Rain" font of the titles to the Giorgio Moroder-ish score, this feels

    Brighton Rock (2011)

    September 13, 2011

Based on a Graham Green novel, Brighton Rock was previously made into a British adaptation back in 1947. But where the novel and original were both set in 1939, this modern re-telling has been updated to 1964. The re-imagining adds to the narrative immensely. There's a certain stylishness to 1960s era England

    Higher Ground (2011)

    September 08, 2011

Emotionally shattering tale of a Fundamentalist Christian who struggles to keep her beliefs in a religiously tight-knit community. The movie is loosely based on novelist Carolyn S. Briggs' memoir This Dark World: A Story of Faith Found and Lost. She also co-wrote the screenplay. Given that ominous title, I

    Our Idiot Brother

    Our Idiot Brother (2011)

    September 07, 2011

Our Idiot Brother is funny. It's full of sensitive, honest and heartfelt depictions. So why did the producers feel the need to saddle it with a title like "Our Idiot Brother?" It betrays the underlying sweetness of the story and casts a dim-witted vibe on the marketing. Much of the humor has to do with

    The Debt (2011)

    September 04, 2011

Sturdy spy thriller features three Israeli intelligence agents who must return to Eastern Europe when the questionable reappearance of a Nazi war criminal, long thought dead, reappears. The cast is large. We have 6 actors playing 3 parts in younger and older versions. Although everyone puts in solid work, the casting
