U2 Concert Reviews
Reviews from Camp Nou in Barcelona (June, ‘09)
“U2 kicked off their first tour in three years on Tuesday, rocking a raucous Barcelona crowd of around 90,000 and reaching for the stars with a live link-up to the International Space Station.
Featuring one of the biggest concert stages ever built, the U2 360 Tour will visit 31 cities across Europe and North America and entertain an estimated three million people. More dates are expected to be announced in 2010.
Fans surrounded the circular platform inside Barcelona’s Nou Camp stadium, allowing for a bigger audience and lower average ticket prices during the global recession.
“All around Spain, all around the world, things are difficult. Thank you for coming back to us again and again,” Bono said during the high octane show.
The quartet, one of the world’s most successful acts, opened with “Breathe” from their acclaimed new album “No Line on the Horizon”, and the crowd came to life with the anthem-style “Magnificent” on a hot summer’s night.” - Ben Harding for Reuters
“A giant video screen at the top of the “claw” relayed all the action in precise detail and while the stage didn’t revolve (as had been expected) all band members made extensive use of the walkways which brought them right into the audience. The Space Odyssey feel continued as the band did a live hook-up with the international space station which is currently circling the earth.
Adam Clayton, their bass player, asked the astronauts whether they had seen any UFOs on their travels. …
As the twin encores of With or Without You and a magnificent rendition of Moment Of Surrender brought the night to an end, there was a real sense that U2 had reconnected with their fan base and live audience with a thoughtful, well measured and, let’s not be churlish, exhilarating live show. Prepare to be wowed all over again. ” - Brian Boyd for The Telegraph
U2 Tickets
It’s only fitting that the first big break for U2 came on St. Patrick’s Day. Back in’78 the band from Dublin, Ireland, won a few hundred bucks in a talent show, along with the chance to record a demo tape. In the three decades since then, U2 has won an incredible 22 Grammy Awards and sold more than 150 million records worldwide. The band is also known for putting on incredible live shows, and that has made U2 concert tickets some of the best selling tickets of all time. Over the past decade only the Rolling Stones have grossed more from concert ticket sales.
The U2 360° Tour presents fans with a completely unique experience that includes perhaps the most elaborate stage setup in the history of music. The remarkable stage, which looks like a giant claw, allows for fans to have a great view of the band no matter where they are sitting. The stage is more than 160 feet tall and needs a fleet of 120 trucks to move it from show to show. The daily cost of producing the show is reportedly in the neighborhood of $1 million, and that obviously doesn’t include the cost of the equipment and the massive video screens. There simply is no other concert experience on the planet like a U2 concert, and GoTickets.com has your U2 tickets so you can be there to see it live.
A band like U2 certainly doesn’t need an opening act, but they have always made a point of having a strong opener, which gives you added value when you buy U2 concert tickets. Their current tour has featured acts like Muse and the Black Eyed Peas, who could probably fill a stadium on their own.
In addition to selling millions and millions of records, U2 is known for their humanitarian work. Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. are all active with a number of charitable causes, and they have played countless benefit concerts. They are also widely recognized as putting on the best Super Bowl performance when they rocked the Louisiana Superdome in ’02.
From “The Joshua Tree” to “Achtung Baby” to their newest album, “No Line on the Horizon,” you are going to hear all the hits when you attend a U2 concert. Order your U2 concert seats today.

Bono comments on the setup for the outdoor stadiums they plan to play:
They’re already planning an innovative setup that will allow for 360-degree seating around the stage, which will be moved closer to the center of the field than in any other stadium show. “It’s an engineering feat that creates this real physical proximity to the crowd,” Bono tells Rolling Stone, adding that the band wants to maximize space in the enormous venues to accommodate the many young fans it has made this decade with hits such as ‘Vertigo.’ “We’re going outdoors to try to meet that audience.”
