After much deliberation, here are Awards Frenzy’s 2012 Oscar Predictions.
Last year, we had one of our most successful predictions years ever, correctly predicting 3 out of 10 Best Picture nominees a year in advance, including Best Picture runner-up “The Social Network.” We also were accurate in predicting Colin Firth to win Best Actor in “The King’s Speech” and Christian Bale to win Best Supporting Actor for “The Fighter.” Let’s see how we do this year.

As you all know by now, Joe Dungan and Geraldine Rodriguez tied for first in Awards Frenzy’s Oscar Contest. We now reveal the names of the other participants who tied or surpassed Awards Frenzy’s total this year.
In second place was Jason Acuff, who finished one point better than Awards Frenzy.
In third place, and tied with Awards Frenzy, were Gaston Julis, Sudha Amaran, David Tseng, and Robert Negron.

Welcome to the day after the Oscars! Hope everyone did well on their Oscar pools. As we mentioned in Live Blog, we are pleased to post a record of 19/24 in all categories last night. Our predictions record surpassed those of leading Oscar sites Awards Daily (18/24) and In Contention (18/24), and Entertainment Weekly (16/24). We are most proud of our predictions of Inception winning Best Cinematography (most people went with True Grit), Tom Hooper for Best Director (Fincher was the consensus), and The Social Network for Best Original Score (The King’s Speech was favored).

8:38 It’s time to say good night. It should be noted that Awards Frenzy voters have voted The King’s Speech as their best film of the year. The Social Network had led our poll question by a slim margin for weeks, but in the final days, The King’s Speech pulled ahead. Fitting, isn’t it? Awards Frenzy finishes the night by correctly predicting 19 out of 24 categories.
