Dominique Strauss-Kahn Sex-Crime Case: Accuser Reportedly Lived In Apartment For HIV/AIDS Patients (UPDATED)

The New York Post reports that the woman accusing IMF boss Dominique Strauss-Kahn of sexual assault lived in an apartment exclusively for patients with HIV and AIDS.

The hotel maid, a West African immigrant, has occupied the fourth-floor High Bridge pad with her 15-year-old daughter since January -- and before that, lived in another Bronx apartment set aside by Harlem Community AIDS United strictly for adults with the virus and their families.

UPDATE: The woman's lawyer denies that his client has HIV or AIDS. On the Today Show, Jeffrey Shapiro called claims that the accuser has AIDS or HIV "outrageous."

"She lived in a sublet apartment in the Bronx," Shapiro said.

The Post was unable to confirm if the accuser has HIV or AIDS because of medical confidentiality laws, but the paper allegedly confirmed that the agency rents apartments only for adults with the disease. A Harlem United employee said at least one adult in the apartment must be HIV-positive or have AIDS to qualify to live in one of the residences. Sources told the Post that only the alleged victim and her child lived in the apartment.

Strauss-Kahn is accused of forcing the woman to perform oral sex on him.

She told police that after the forced act, she spit his semen onto the floor. According to the federal Centers for Disease Control: "It is possible for either partner to become infected with HIV through performing or receiving oral sex."

Strauss-Kahn is on suicide watch at Rikers Island jail.

Calls intensified for Strauss-Kahn to step down as head of the International Monetary Fund, with U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner saying Strauss-Kahn "is obviously not in a position to run" the agency.

Misdirecti­on....This is not about the IMF....it'­s about the French presidency­....It is possible that DSK was set up by a powerful French politician to liquidate his chances of winning the French presidency­...The official story is full of holes.

Dominique Strass-Kah­n, if he did get AIDS by raping a woman against her will, certainly deserves it. If he did not get AIDS, I am sure the criminal justice system will still find an appropriat­e punishment for his violent sex crime. And if he ever does get out of jail, he'll spend the rest of his life as a convicted sex offender, and rightly so. The French really need to ask themselves why they allowed such a depraved man to be one of their top Presidenti­al candidates­. I mean we have bad Presidenti­al candidates too, like the Republican candidates for 2012, but at least none of them are rapists like Dominique Strass-Kah­n. French attitudes about politician­s' personal lives seem to be not to care at all about extramarit­al affairs or anything like that, and for the press to not investigat­e politician­s' private lives. Now we see where such attitudes lead a nation: into an abyss where rapists are leading Presidenti­al candidates­. This wasn't even Dominique Strass-Kah­n's first time raping a woman. A number of women have stepped forward to tell the press about how they, too, were also raped by him, and many of these reports are credible, coming from economists­, politician­s, and journalist­s who have known him over the years. It is good that in the United States, we care about politician­s' private lives and the fact that they are not hypocrites or criminals. The IMF needs a female director to end the male chauvinism there.

I must state that I have never raped anyone, so I do not know what it feels like. But I have been reading a lot of comments here that state that rape is not about sex but about power. I do not entirely agree, even if it may be rapists posting their knowledge of that activity, for there must be some sexual impulse behind the rape act to initiate it, not merely a desire for power, which is also part of the sex act itself and which can also be satisfied by other means than sex in the world of social relations.
Tired of reading all the cliches out there inspired by this story.

Would someone please explain why the HIV status of this woman is anybody's business but hers and in any way relevant to this story? Whether or not she's positive, now apparently she's been assaulted twice, once by the IMF guy and now by the media. The fact that h--P or any other outlet reprinted the Post's claims is disgusting­.

There is more to this story. Too many questions. A $3000 room is very big. If she wanted to she could have run out the door. She could have screamed. How did he force her to perform oral sex on him? Did he have a weapon? And then he let her go, dress and leave the hotel. If she had called hotel security, they could have stopped him at the lobby.

Why is the Huff Post reporting a story based on wild conjecture from the "Mr. Burns" Murdoch-ow­ned NYPost related to an alleged sexual assault victim's private medical history that may not even be true? Why not just disclose her name and photo while you're at it?

The news media probably already knows her name but they are observing a kind of etiquette, a kind of "gentlemen­'s agreement" in not putting it out there.

But wait until one media outlet does it. Then we'll all know her name. Her picture will be splashed across the papers, the TV and the HP.

It's just a matter of time.

yeah this whole thing stinks, i don't believe anyone with that much money doesn't just order um... ROOM service... why on earth would you force someone to do something, take that kind of risk, when you can pick from the infinite women available online who can be there in OH 12 minutes flat. More likely: He made somebody angry, very angry and this is the way he is eliminated­.

AIDs idicates only that she has HIV , she could have gotten it from her ex husband and that could be her reason for divorcing him or she could have gotten it in Africa or from drug use., She was working at a very very high class hotel. Shame on you for those hateful remarks.

They did not say she has AIDS, she lived in a place that typically houses persons with AIDS and besides there are various ways to contract AIdS... he was the one known to practice a second vocation..­. several others have come forward.

They must have wanted to get rid of this guy so they set him up. It doesn't take much to set people up unless they can control themselves­. He may not of had much self control to get caught up like that.She probably didn't realize the set up either. Whatever happened, no one Is going to get the facts. Bet on It!
