Editorial Reviews
The second album from Heavy Metal band Avenged Sevenfold. In this album, the band transitions from their original hardcore sound of the first album, to their signature metal styles of the latest albums.

I got it today gave it a spin. It’s quality it top notch. Listening on an RT-85 with a sumiko cart (also listened on my 2m blue) and it’s gorgeous. Really dynamic album. Drums and vocals are lovely. Guitars are punchy and cut through great. Sound amazing through my Kilpsch reference. Overall I would highly recommend this pressing. If you’re me and hate new A7X but love their metalcore albums. Even more the reason to pick this up to sit in your room and reminisce the good ol days.
One of my friends explains that there are two basic camps that metal bands choose, either Maiden or Priest. Not to take anything away from Maiden, but they are probably the more classical of the two, with sweeping guitar parts and classical drum fills. Priest is a little more edgy and the drums are always a bit more heavy, not to take anything away from their guitar onslaught. Around the 80's, metal bands started to incorporate a lot of punk themes into their music, but this really favored more on the Priest side of things, as it was hard if not impossible to get those clean guitars into a punk structured song. This album does precisely that. It really is the merging of those two styles with punk like I have never heard before. Sure it is a bit alienating because of how unique this album is, but it really is uniting all metal under one banner to go forward behind.
