From the MoviesA beautiful sylph-like Kaminoan, Taun We is the administrative aide to the Prime Minister of Kamino, Lama Su. When Obi-Wan Kenobi arrived at the rain-swept platforms of Tipoca City, he was greeted by the gentle Taun We.
Taun We explained that the Kaminoans had long been expecting the arrival of a Jedi envoy, since a Jedi representative, Master Sifo-Dyas, commissioned a clone army a decade earlier. Kenobi bluffed his way into the heart of the cloning operation, and had the na?ve Taun We introduce him to the original source of the clones, Jango Fett.
From the Expanded UniverseThe willowy and refined Taun We served as Project Coordinator for the Republic clone army. Of all Kaminoans, she is perhaps most well versed in human emotional psychology. Such knowledge helped develop the clones into mentally stable individuals.
Behind the ScenesActress Rena Owen describes Taun We as a creature of love and light, a graceful form that easily glides through life. Though the alien in the finished film was entirely a computer-generated creation, Owen performed Taun We's voice on set. She even wore a specially modified hardhat with a maquette of the alien's head on top, which provided her co-stars with the proper eye-line for talking with the two-meter tall alien.
