STOKE CITY Football Club can today announce the pre-season plans for Tony Pulis' first team squad ahead of the 2011/12 Barclays Premier League campaign.
The Potters return back to the Clayton Wood Training Ground following a six week summer break on Thursday 7th July, just 24 hours before they are scheduled to fly out to Austria for their annual training camp.
Pulis and his players will spend six days in the picturesque surroundings of Irdning where the City boss will take full advantage of the climate and altitude to build up the players' fitness ahead of their first friendly on July 16.
The side will travel to South Wales to take on Newport County, who are managed by Anthony Hudson, the son of former Stoke legend Alan, on Saturday, July 16, with a 3pm kick off, before facing City rivals Newport YMCA, the following day at the Mendalgeief Road (2pm).
Preparations for a fourth consecutive top flight campaign will continue against League One outfit Brentford at Griffin Park on Friday, July 22 (7:45pm), with another game against Aldershot Town, whose side include former Stoke defender John Halls, taking place at the Recreation Ground on Saturday, July 23 (3pm).
