The Boston Celtics took a commanding 3-0 lead in their NBA play-off series against the Miami Heat after Paul Pierce sealed a 100-98 victory on the buzzer.

With the scores locked at 98-98 Pierce landed a jump shot from 21 yards, taking his tally to 32 points for the night.

Dwayne Wade, who was taken from the court injured after missing a potentially winning throw seconds before Pierce's effort, contributed 34 points for Miami.

The San Antonio Spurs beat Dallas Mavericks 94-90 to take a 2-1 series lead. The Spurs overturned a four-point deficit in the final quarter as Tim Duncan (25 points) and Tony Parker (23) led the way against Dirk Nowitzki's return of 35 for the Mavericks.

Utah Jazz are also 2-1 ahead after three matches after a 105-93 victory at the Denver Nuggets. Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups each contributed 25 points in a losing cause with Deron Williams's 24-point return Utah's best.
