Etymology: N.L. n. acidum propionicum, propionic acid; N.L. neut. n. microbium (from Gr. adj. mikros, small and Gr. n. bios, life), a microbe; N.L. neut. n. Propionimicrobium, propionic acid-producing microbe.

Etymology: L. fem. n. lympha, water clear water, and in biology lymph; N.L. neut. adj. philum (from Gr. neut. adj. philon), friend, loving; N.L. neut. adj. lymphophilum, lymph-loving.
