We weren't alone in celebrating the choice of actor Michael Clarke Duncan as the voice of Kilwog, the alien drill sergeant who trains Hal Jordan in "Green Lantern." His signature voice — deeper than a bottomless well, it seems — felt like the perfect choice for the ol' poozer from Bolovax Vik.

While the latest "Green Lantern" trailer went a long way toward showing us why he's the right choice, we took it to the man himself when we caught him at a recent press event.

"I was a fan of Green Lantern a long time ago, so it was very easy for me to go in there and voice Kilowog," Duncan told MTV News. Read more...

Green LanternWe’ve still got a few goose bumps from the latest and unarguably best “Green Lantern” trailer that hit the net a little over a week ago. Bulging with aliens and Oa landscape, it was the view true fans were waiting for to bolster their confidence in the blockbuster project.

Now in the home stretch toward its release, “Green Lantern” has most likely already started filling theaters—with the giant size, hanging, character-centric posters typically accompanying big summer movies.

Debuting on the film’s official Facebook page is one such poster, featuring a sinister Peter Sarsgaard as Hector Hammond with a fist full of psionic power. Read more...

As your friendly neighborhood editor here at MTV Splash Page, I often find myself telling people that despite what they might think about the job, running a website like this isn't all fun and games. But you know what? Sometimes it is fun and games — a big box full of it, in fact.

Case in point: the large, mysterious (and thankfully, not ticking) package that arrived Friday evening:

Green Lantern toys

Given the "Green Lantern" poster attached to the top of the box, you can probably guess which upcoming movie its contents were promoting... but you'll probably never guess what was inside! Read more...

Green Lantern - KilowogFollowing up on the recent "Green Lantern" poster featuring Tomar-Re, Warner Bros. has debuted two more posters from the upcoming film that put the spotlight on prominent alien members of the Green Lantern Corps. This time around, Kilowog and Sinestro get all the attention!

Posted over at Yahoo Movies, the new posters offer another look at the baddest poozer ever to sling a ring, Kilowog, as well as the Green Lantern who will one day become one of Hal Jordan's greatest enemies, Sinestro. In the film, Michael Clarke Duncan will provide the voice of Kilowog, while Mark Strong donned makeup and prosthetics to bring Sinestro to life.

Green LanternEarlier today, when we posted the extended trailer for "Green Lantern" that's been making the rounds on television, I mentioned how great it was to see a little more of Tomar-Re and Kilowog. Now it looks like we could be getting even more of the former, courtesy of a new "Green Lantern" poster that puts the spotlight on the finned alien from Xudar.

Debuting over at Yahoo Movies, the "Green Lantern" poster has Tomar-Re front and center, arm cocked back back and ring ready.

And while Tomar-Re has received a bit of a makeover for the live-action movie, it looks much of his character's comic book history with Hal Jordan could be making a faithful leap to the big screen. Read more...

Green LanternAn extended trailer for "Green Lantern" has found its way online after premiering on television this. While there's not a lot of new footage to be seen in the tv preview, it does give us yet another look at Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, some of the constructs he forms with the ring, and the rest of the Green Lantern Corps.

The new trailer also gives us yet another look at the Parallax entity, and offers some indication of how Hector Hammond acquires the powers that make him such a dangerous member of Hal Jordan's rogues gallery.

Oh, and there's a healthy dose of Tomar-Re and Kilowog, too — which is always nice. Read more...

Michael Clarke DuncanGreen Lantern” is in post-production, and part of that means getting the voice work done. We’ve known for a long time about Ryan Reynolds' role as Hal Jordan, but now we know who'll provide the voice of one of the best-known alien members of the Green Lantern Corps, too.

There have been rumors about Michael Clarke Duncan voicing Kilowog for weeks, and now The Hollywood Reporter has been able to report that it’s more than just potential casting. The site indicated that the offer was extended to Duncan on Tuesday and the Oscar-nominated actor is now in negotiations for the role.

This comes two weeks after it was announced that Geoffrey Rush would provide the voice of the alien Corps member Tomar-Re. Read more...
