Growling bass, intergalactic funk and chiming melodies
The tenth album from the pioneering electronic duo is a cause for delirious
300-page threads on fan forums, but is there anything here for the casual
listener? Plenty. For anyone not scared away by the growling,
bowel-loosening sub-bass on Ilanders, there are glimpses of intergalactic
funk (d-sho qub) amid the futuristic soundscapes, and warm, chiming melodies
reminiscent of their 1990s output (O=0; krYlon). When the aliens do make
contact the one thing that we’ll all have in common will be Autechre.
