Crean calls for Govt to 'mobilise anger' over US steel tariffs
Federal Opposition leader Simon Crean says Australia should take the lead in protesting against the United States decision to impose a 30 per cent tariff on imported steel.
Mr Crean says the decision impacts upon America's allies, many of whom are helping them in the so-called war against terror.
He says the Government needs to stand up to the United States over the steel tariffs.
"What this Government has to do is to mobilise the coalition of anger against the US decision," he said.
"It's not just Australia that it has impacted upon, there are people in the APEC league and there are people in Europe.
"Australia should be taking the lead."
